Safeguarding and ‘Prevent’
Manshead CE Academy takes safeguarding very seriously.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing impairment of children’s health or development
- ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
At Manshead CE Academy we believe that safeguarding children is the responsibility of all members of our community. All Manshead CE Academy staff are trained in safeguarding and know and understand what to do if there is a safeguarding issue that needs to be addressed. The people listed below are the main contacts for safeguarding in the academy. If you have a safeguarding concern as a parent or member of the community please contact a member of the team.
Gail Dumpleton, Designated Safeguarding Lead
Andy McBurnie, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Stuart Moore, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
The academy Child Protection Policy is reviewed annually and a copy is available in the list of policies in the About menu. Our outline guidance leaflet is attached below.
