Safeguarding and ‘Prevent’
Manshead takes safeguarding very seriously.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing impairment of children’s health or development
- ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
At Manshead School we believe that safeguarding children is the responsibility of all members of our community. All Manshead staff are trained in safeguarding and know and understand what to do if there is a safeguarding issue that needs to be addressed. The people listed below are the main contacts for safeguarding in the school. If you have a safeguarding concern as a parent or member of the community please contact a member of the team.
Thom Darby, Designated Safeguarding Lead
Stuart Moore, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Gail Dumpleton, Inclusion Manager
Mark Lawrence, Designated Governor for Safeguarding
The school Child Protection Policy is reviewed annually and a copy is available in the list of policies in the About menu.
