When you visit the compare school performance site you will see that Manshead CE Academy achieves among the best results in the region for both GCSE and A-level. In 2017 68.1% of students achieved 9 to 4 grades in English and mathematics at GCSE level. Manshead CE Academy also leads the way with the percentage of students who achieve the English Baccalaureate. The English Baccalaureate measures the proportion of students who achieve a grade 4 or higher in academic subjects such as English, mathematics, science, foreign languages and history or geography. In 2017 15.5% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate compared to 7% and 6% at Queensbury Academy and All Saints Academy respectively.
The academy’s Progress 8 score, which measures the progress that students make from their starting points at age 11 to their outcomes at age 16, is also the best in Dunstable. In 2017, Manshead CE Academy has provisionally scored -0.09, in line with the national average. In comparison Queensbury Academy scored -0.58 and Priory Academy scored -0.57 (both well below the national average) and All Saints Academy scored -0.37, below the national average. Outcomes for all groups of learners at Manshead CE Academy are continuing to show an improving trend.
