GCSE Results 2017
Manshead CE Academy is reporting continued improvement in its GCSE results in a number of key areas. This follows last week’s excellent A level results. This is the Academy’s first set of results as part of the Diocese of St Albans Multi-Academy Trust. This year 79.3% of exam entries achieved a “pass” or grade “C”. The number of students achieving a pass in English has risen to 76%, and stands at 66% in Maths. Whilst Triple Science has seen an increase of over 13% in the number of students achieving a grade “C” or above. The number of students receiving the new “top grades” of 7-9 in the reformed subjects is 21.3%, against a national average of 20%. Charlotte Johnson, Chief Education Officer for the Diocese of St Albans Multi-Academy Trust, which is Manshead’s sponsor, commented: “In a time of substantial change and reform for GCSEs and the decrease in results nationally, these results are particularly pleasing and reflect the hard work and commitment of our staff and students.” Significant achievements included: Courtney Alnaggar: 5 x A*(9&8), 2 x A (7), 3 x B (6) Erica Armstrong: 2 x A*(9&8), 5 x A (7), 2 x B (6) Daniel Badger: 2 x A*(9&8), 5 x A (7), 3 x B (6) Harrison Bolton: 3 x A*(9&8), 5 x A (7), 2 x B (6) Michael Bordiak: 6 x A*(9&8), 4 x A (7) Sophie Claridge: 6 x A*(9,8, D*), 2 x A (7), 2 x B (6) Ryan Gemmell: 8 x A*(9,8, D*), 2 x A (7) Megan Hough: 6 x A*(9&8), 4 x A (7) Olivia Jeffs: 4 x A*(9&8), 4 x A (7), 2 x B (6) Chandler Kirwan: 2 x A*(9&8), 4 x A (7), 2 x B (6), 2 x C (5) Hannah Meadows: 6 x A*(9&8), 3 x A (7), 1 x B (6) Francesca Morris: 1 x A*(9&8), 7 x A (7), 2 x C (5) Kieran Murray: 4 x A*(9&8), 3 x A (7), 3 x B (6), 1 x C (5) Julia Nowak: 3 x A*(9,8 & D*), 6 x A (7), 1 x B (6) Oluwadunyin Olesin: 1 x A*(9&8), 7 x A (7), 2 x B (6) Prina Patel: 4 x A*(9&8), 4 x A (7), 1 x B (6), 1 x C (5) Nirosan Pragash: 3 x A*(9&8), 6 x A (7), 1 x B (6), 1 x C (5)
