DofE Practice Expedition
This year’s Bronze Practice Expedition was a really successful weekend. Teams started their hiking in lower temperatures than one might expect for May but this seemed to quicken their pace. Map reading skills were good and all teams successfully navigated their way to Long Grove campsite in Studham via different routes. The campsite looked beautiful with the bluebells in full bloom. Once tents had been put up and pegged down, dinner was cooked followed by some lovely melted marshmallows around the fire. The sun did come out and warm us all up eventually on the Sunday and after cooking breakfast, teams walked back from Studham to Manshead without too much difficulty. Everyone looked well prepared for their assessed expedition at the end of June.
