A Level Art and Photography Exhibitions 2014

Each year we hold exhibitions to showcase the work of Art and Photography students at Manshead. We had a fantastic turn out this year at both A Level exhibitions. Visitors were very impressed with the quality and variety of work on display.

A few examples of Year 12/13 Photography
‘This year, the AS and A2 Photography Exhibition was the biggest ever with over 35 students exhibiting their final coursework and exam outcomes. Work was diverse, ranging from classic portraiture to work with a social and cultural message. Year 12 took on the theme of architecture and exhibited some fantastic outcomes in both two and three dimensions. Highlights included some expansive ‘joiner’ pieces of famous British landmarks and some creative three-dimensional urban cityscapes. The quality of the exhibition was high with good results, allowing Year 13 students to secure the University places they aspired to.’ Miss Brooks – Photography.

The AS and A2 Art and Design Exhibition was a huge success, displaying a great sample of the students’ best work. The range of different mediums demonstrated their knowledge of a wide variety of process and skills from clay, plaster and metal sculptures to prints and paintings. We had a great turn out to the private view and the work was well received by all, with some students selling their paintings and others getting commissions for future work. The Year 13 students in particular created a fantastic exhibition with their professional portfolios, which gave them the results needed to go on to their chosen university or college courses. Mr Brooks-Buckingham – Art and Design.

We wish all of our students the best of luck with their further studies at university and college.
